PEACE GARDEN
History
Work on Covenant's Peace Garden was begun in the Spring of 2002. The Fountain was donated by Mrs. Harris in loving memory of her husband Don Harris.
In the Summer of 2003 the Peace Garden was given three Concrete Benches by the Bob and Bobbie Merrifield's children; Brian and Elaine Saunders, Joe and Julie Schultz, Randy and Kathy Cook, and Dr. John Nemecek in honor of their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
The Iron fence that enhances the Peace Garden was brought over from the property at A&M Presbyterian Church. The fencing was given by Mrs. Harris in memory of her husband W. J. Dobson. The iron fencing was erected once again in the spring of 2007 by Aaron Howerton and his scout troop as an Eagle Project.
The final stage of the Peace Garden was put into motion in the Spring of 2008. The beautiful Brick Pavers and Landscaping were laid in place by Brian and Stephen Nock and their scout troop as Eagle Projects.
Current Projects
The brick pavers are an ongoing project that currently has no set end-date. These bricks can be purchased for $100 each and engraved with up to 3-lines of text. Proceeds from the Brick Pavers sale will applied to the church's mortgage.
